EA has announced that FIFA 21 will finally get changes to the career mode, which has pretty much been the same for a few years now. EA made the announcement via the FIFA 21 website. The changes are mostly around the management aspect of the game.

Fans of Career Mode can take their team to the top by managing every moment, with new innovations that create additional depth in matches, transfers, and training. Career Mode also delivers a huge leap in gameplay interactivity to control the outcome of every game with the Interactive Match Sim, a revamped growth system to better manage Player Development, and more.

The slogan for FIFA 21's Career Mode appears to suggest that the emphasis has been on getting the basics right, as well as adding new features to shake up the established formula. A large portion of the community lamented the lack of innovation in FIFA 20's Career Mode.With that being said, EA have placed emphasis on "new additions", that will "create additional depth in matches, transfers, and training to give you more control over your team’s rise to the top." There will also be an increased focus on player development in this year's career mode. It will now be possible to retrain players for new positions (i.e. to turn a right back into a right winger). A reworked growth system will allow players a greater insight into how their squad is progressing, with the ability to closely monitor changes in player attributes.

EA Sports says a full reveal will be coming next month, but it's an encouraging sign for those who've wanted updates to the game's single-player elements. FIFA 21 will be released on October 9 on PS4, Xbox One and PC, and will arrive as a next-gen game later this year - with a free upgrade for those who bought current-gen editions.
