The latest Herblore Activity in Old School Runescape Varlamore is designed to complement the traditional Herblore experience, focusing on potion production and alchemy rather than maximizing XP gains per hour. This new activity is not intended for those solely seeking high XP rates but offers other rewards.
This update provides an alternative osrs herblore training method, primarily targeting players with a level of 70 or higher, though lower-level players can also participate in the potion-making process.
The Varlamore Storyline
Alchemists in Varlamore are overwhelmed by the influx of visitors and need help fulfilling potion orders. Players will brew and complete potion orders using the unique alchemical methods of Varlamore, which involve breaking down herbs into base alchemical elements.
Core Gameplay Loop
Players must first complete a brief quest introducing them to Varlamore's alchemy and potion brewing methods. Afterward, they can start fulfilling potion orders.
You'll need to supply your own herbs or unfinished potions. Unlike traditional brewing, this method doesn't require secondary ingredients. Instead, herbs are processed into 'base elements' for potion crafting.
Check the order list on the interface to see required potions and deadlines. Start by processing herbs in the 'Refiner' to extract 'base elements.' Next, use the 'Mixer' to combine elements into potions. There are three base elements: Lye, Aga, and Mox (LAM).
Once you have your base elements, use the levers by the mixer to select the correct combination for the order. Then, process the potion in one of three machines: Retort, Agitator, or Alembic, each giving different modifiers—Concentrated, Homogenous, or Crystalised.
Finally, complete the potion at the 'Delivery Counter' to earn points, which can be redeemed for various rewards.
Herblore Activity Rewards
Here are the seven rewards available
Potion Packs: Containing various potions made from herbs processed into LAM components.
Potion of Goading: Allows players to set aggro on non-aggressive enemies within a 9x9 radius. Useful for farming or tanking hits.

Alchemist's Set: An outfit providing a 10% chance to retain a secondary ingredient when making potions.
Amulet of Chemistry (i): An imbued version that increases the chance of mixing 4-dose potions to 15%.
Pre-pot Device: Lets you mix and drink up to five different potions simultaneously for maximum efficiency.
Potion Storage: Adds a new element to your bank for potion storage, freeing up bank slots and making potion management easier.
